Easy Songs To Play On Guitar With Four Basic Open Chords

Understanding Guitar chords

For a lot of newbies at guitar learning, the initial goal in mind is to master a number of easy songs to play on the guitar. And one of the primary problems here is learning all of the guitar chords needed in order to be able to play those songs.

Which is not always an easy thing to accomplish. A lot of songs makes use of chords that appear to have come to exist for no other purpose than to ensure it is impossible to play. It is not surprising you give up on those songs. They need to wait until you get better at guitar playing.

G-Em-C-D

The Chord progression G-Em-C-D is a popular ( big understatement!) sequence around the world, in most sorts of music styles. You can of course transpose to other chords, such as C-Am-F-G or D-Bm-G-A and so on. Another way to “transpose” a song that not suits your voice is to use a capo at any fret you prefer.

I have put together a small list of songs that I found that uses these chords. Quite a few uses the progression throughout the whole song, others are played with variations. And a few of these uses other chords as well.
