Award Winner Baby Changing Bag

The first winner of the Tommy’s Innovation Award was The Baby and All Bag from Debra Clare. Designed for mums and dads with busy lifestyles, it is a stylish shoulder bag that conveniently transforms into a hands-free hip for your child. The Baby and All Bag won after being nominated by parents as a must-have for anyone with a baby or toddler.

The Tommy’s Parent Friendly Awards were set up in 1995 with the aim to help improve products and services for young families and parents-to-be, and to reward those companies that are getting it right.

The woman behind this clever and practical design is mum of two Debbie Mankelow. The inspiration came when she was finding the school run increasing difficult while carrying her ten month old baby as she picked up her five year old son. She needed a carrier that was with her all the time, simple to use and not another thing to deal with. The answer was a bag that doubles as a baby carrier. With a background in fashion design, Debbie set about transforming an old pair of jeans into what became the proto-type of the Baby and All Bag! The rest is history.

Commenting on her award, Debbie said: “I’m delighted and very surprised as I know how many brilliant products there are out there for parents. It’s great to know that an idea I had for my own children has now won several awards and is being used by other parents all over the world!”

Since this award the Baby and All Bag has gone on to receive quite a collection including a coveted Mother and Baby Award, Practical Parenting Award, Practical Pre-School Award and a Baby Products Association award for Innovation.

The Baby and All Bag is ideal for short trips with a child that wants to walk but not all the time, or the school run when you need a spare hand for your second child. It has been designed to have plenty of room and pockets to help any busy mum or dad keep organised and transforms to a hands-free carrier qickly and easily.
