Tips For Making A Highly Functional Toddler’s Room

The time will come where you will have to redecorate your toddler’s room. Luckily, this is one of the easiest rooms that you can achieve a successful design. You just have to think like a child, but also as an adult.

When the time comes to do this, as you are removing the crib, you’re probably thinking of the day you brought your little one home in the Graco Snugride infant car seat. It isn’t uncommon for all these beautiful memories to flash through your mind. Thankfully, we do have those wonderful memories that will make us smile and even get emotional over.

As your baby is growing, you have to find a way to redecorate the room with your child in mind. Remember, while you may want something more sophisticated and beautiful, you also are decorating for a child. You want your child to be comfortable in his or her room.

Take the proper measurements of the room and consider all the uses of the space. If it’s only for sleeping, then decorate according to that. But, if it will have other uses, you have to reconsider some options. One good solution to creating extra space is using a loft bed instead of a conventional one. This allows the space underneath it to be used in different ways.

The area can be used as a play Station, a reading area, or whatever you and your child decide upon. This way, the room will be more functional because there will be more space in it.

You can use bedding quilts or other bedding options, such as comforters. Of course, your choices will have lots to do with what you already have planned for your design scheme.

If you feel uncomfortable adding bold and vibrant colors on the walls, keep them neutral. You can still make the room look incredible and appealing to your child in other ways. For example, framed posters, borders, fun bedding, pillows, rugs and window dressings could all provide color in the space. Bookcases and shelves could also provide for great storage and decor.

Allowing your child to inject some of his or her own ideas into the room will make for a more personal bedroom that he or she will be proud of. Perhaps you can allow your child to finger paint or stamp hand prints onto the door and closet door, just to personalize it.
