When you go shopping to purchase clothes for your baby, try not to be tempted into buying too many in the smaller newborn size. They grow out of them within a couple of weeks and you will be left with barely used clothing. Purchase little girls sweatshirts, rompers and so on in the next size up and they will be able to be used for much longer.
Babies go through a lot of clothes particularly girls t shirts and vests. They often wet them, vomit on them, dribble on them and so on, so it is worth having quite a few changes of these ready to go. You will need enough to have a couple for one day, so in the laundry and some in reserve just in case.
Other items that you will need include loads of baby blankets and wraps depending on the time of the year that the baby is born, a bath, change table, nappies, lotions and a thermometer. Buying an ear thermometer is a good investment as they give fast and accurate readings and it will last you for years to come.
