Post-Pregnancy Workouts That Help With Weight Loss

Don’t worry if you are less than thrilled with the weight that you have gained during your pregnancy. As long as you know what to do, losing the weight should happen quickly. You might not think that you have the time to work out because your baby needs you nearby most of the time. However, your baby likely naps often. If you get into the habit of doing your workouts when your baby takes a nap, you’ll see lots of results. Here are three exercises you can do during that nap time that will supercharge your day and leave you feeling and looking your best. By the way, one thing that has really helped me lose weight after pregnancy is Beachbody’s Shakeology drink. Read this Shakeology review to learn more about it.

Drawing In: This exercise is great for women who have just given birth because, in addition to helping you lose weight, it will make your back, abs and core stronger which will help you regain your posture as well as increasing your metabolism. For this exercise, get down on all fours and put your hands right under your shoulders. Then, pull your abs in and make sure that your spine and neck are in a straight line. Breathe in through your nose and then, as you breathe back out, pull your belly button up and in all while keeping your spine as straight as possible. Twelve of these equals one set and a good workout for your abs and core needs to be at least three sets long.

Bridge Squeeze: To do this exercise, lie on your back while bending your knees but keeping your feet flat on the floor. Draw in your ab muscles while holding a pillow between your knees. Breathe in and then out again as you tighten the muscles in your posterior and lift your hips until your body makes a straight line. Squeeze the pillow with your knees for two counts and then lower your hips. Do three sets of ten reps of this.

Walking: Harvard did a study in 2007 that showed just thirty minutes of walking every day can greatly improve a woman’s chances of shedding her pregnancy weight. The women who participated in the study lost 11 pounds and most women had lost the weight they wanted to lose by their baby’s first birthday. So get outside and breathe in that fresh air! It doesn’t matter what time of day you choose to walk, but if you are going to take your baby with you make sure you choose weather that is baby friendly.

Also, don’t forget to stay properly hydrated on your walk. If you do this every day, you’ll lose the weight super fast. If you do these exercises regularly, they’ll give you amazing results in just a few weeks. They are easily done while your baby rests and are easy to spread out through your day instead of trying to do them all at once. Of course, the fastest way to lose the weight is to do them all in a block for 20-30 minutes three times a week. So do these exercises as often as you can, and keep it up, and you’ll be fitting into your pre-baby jeans before you even realize it. Last but not least, remember to look at this article on the impressive Shakeology results others are seeing.
