The Diaper Bag

When you have kids, running out the door is not always carefree.  A simple trip to the grocery store could result in 30 minutes of putting everything together.  Your tired, the kids are tired.  Be prepared, pack/refill  your diaper bag when you have free time, not when your are ready to leave.

Not everyone likes to carry a big heavy diaper bag around. One option is to have two bags, one small and one big.  The big one would stay in the car and would have all the
supplies.  The smaller bag would go in the store with you and include the essentials. Leaving the big bag in the car when your out, always gives you the option of going out to the car instead of have having to carry a bigger bag or having to purchase needed products. Remember the contents and size of bag really depends on the age and the number of children you have.

The must haves for your diaper bag: Hand Sanitizer.  This is great for after diaper changes.  It is also good for older kids. Bathrooms do not always have a working soap dispenser or paper towels.  Diapers.  Cause you just never know.  Wipes. They are good for diaper changes and cleaning faces. Diaper cream, Water. Especially when travelling in between towns. Water can be used in sippy cups and for mixing formula Clothes. Extra shirt, pants, socks, (or sleepers) and onesies.  Drinks. Formula, drink boxes (for the older kids).  Food & Snack. Jars of baby food with spoon, dried foods (for the older kids).  Bottles & Sippy cups. Spit-up cloth. Changing pad. Some change tables can be dirty a receiving blanket would work too.  Zipper bags. A place to store soiled clothes.

Other great things to have in your diaper bag: Extra Socks. Receiving Blankets. Can be used as a change pad, spit-up cloth and keep baby warm.  Blanket. For cold winter days. Entertainment. Small toys and books.  Extra shirt for you. In case of spit-ups and stains. Extra pacifiers. One could fall on the ground, or become lost.  Nursing cover, if breast-feeding. A plastic bag for cloth diapers or when there is no trash can, like in your car. Gas drops and dropper. Teething gel.
